We helped lay the groundwork for the first new department in 20 years.

A leading medical school recognized the opportunity to bring together nascent efforts among faculty engaged in the quantitative analysis of complex biological systems, under the umbrella of a new department; a visionary faculty leader was eager to lead the charge. AltshulerStaats worked closely with the founding chair and core faculty to help articulate a vision and goals for the new department, which was in turn codified into both an internal proposal as well as a business plan for potential donors. These successful efforts resulted in the creation of the first new department at the medical school in 20 years, which has since grown to 18 faculty.
